Run rate (burn rate)
Run rate — sometimes called burn rate — is your current spending speed extended to the full period. A quick projection is spend ÷ days elapsed × days in the period. It answers "if nothing changes, where will I land?"
The projection, not today's spend, is the number that matters. Reacting to the run-rate projection is what lets you correct a channel before it overshoots, rather than after.
